Stop Dirty Banking in Asheville
March 21 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Join Third Act Asheville for a National Day of Action, beginning at Pritchard Park, on Tuesday, March 21, from noon to 2 pm and learn how to move your $ from banks who are funding fossil fuels and climate chaos.
- Gather at Pritchard Park in downtown Asheville at noon. Bring a sign (limited signs and banners will be available). There’ll be music, local speakers, banners and lots of information about how Third Act’s partners support a sustainable future for our planet.
- At 1 pm, representatives will go inside the Wells Fargo bank to talk with the manager about what we’re doing and ask that our messages be shared with their superiors.
- Then, everyone is invited to walk from Wells Fargo Bank to Bank of America on College Street, where a representative will go inside and talk with the bank manager about our concerns.
Third Act Asheville is a group of committed seniors who are determined to change the world for the better. Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo have given more than $300,000,000,000 in loans to coal, gas, and oil companies in the 3 years since the Paris climate accords. These banks need us more than we need them.
