Redistricting: NCGA Virtual Public Hearing on Draft Maps

October 25 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

North Carolinians made it clear during recent public hearings that we want an end to partisan gerrymandering and for our communities to be kept together as much as possible. The draft maps that were released last week show that Republican legislators chose to completely disregard voters’ concerns. The draft maps are not fair. They would disenfranchise voters living in North Carolina’s diverse, growing metropolitan areas and manipulate the maps to heavily favor Republicans for a decade to come. We won’t let this stand – and we need YOU to help us fight back!

The NCGA Joint Redistricting Committee has announced that both in-person and virtual hearings on draft maps will be held Monday and Tuesday, October 25 and 26. In-person hearings are scheduled for 3 p.m. at the NCGA on both days. Remote hearings at two locations each day will be livestreamed in to the main hearing room. Virtual hearings will also be held at 5:30 p.m. on both days.

Monday Virtual Hearing

Senator Ralph Hise will be presiding.
