Phone Bank: NCGA Statewide Day of Action

January 27 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Registrations are closed for this event

Wednesday, the 27th, is the first day the NC General Assembly is back in session. We’re planning a Statewide Day of Action with three demands for our legislators:

  •  Pass Medicaid Expansion. No more excuses! The COVID-19 crisis has shown us North Carolina needs to expand Medicaid now more than ever!
  • Enact an Evictions Moratorium. Protect North Carolinians from being evicted during the pandemic, and use the people’s funds to find shelter for those without a home.
  • Raise the minimum wage to $15! And ensure that all essential workers get hazard pay and paid sick leave.

Register for this Virtual Phone Bank, from 3 to 5 pm, as we join with other activists all over the state to reach out to our reps and legislative leaders in Raleigh.

Call On Your Own!

You can also call on your own any time during the day. Simply go to the Phone 2 Action page, put in your info, and start calling! We’ll be calling our local reps – our state Senator and House Representative – as well as NCGA Leadership.

You can find sample scripts here.

Other Actions

If you’re on Twitter, be sure to join in the Statewide Tweet Storm, from 12 to 2pm, as we focus on all three demands in a coordinated social media promotion.

You can also write and call on your own! For contact info and to learn more, see Welcome the NCGA Back in Session with 3 Critical Demands.

You can find details on your NCGA legislators here.
