June 19 - June 20
This year, the Grind Coffee Shop in the River Arts District will be host to GRINDfest, a Black-led celebration of Black business, entrepreneurship, and culture that includes the whole community. It will be part of the city’s Juneteenth celebration during the weekend of June 19-20.
Black business owners, vendors, and entrepreneurs will be gathering in the River Arts District to sell their wares and promote their businesses as part of the weekend-long celebration. There will be food, activities, and opportunities to connect with others throughout the event, including events such as xtreme hip-hop aerobics, a games tournament, and a performance of Savagery, lip sync battle, community awards, a dance party, and a play written by local author Nicole Lee featuring true stories from people of color.
There are a variety of volunteer opportunities available for this event, and no experience is necessary. Click here to volunteer!
