G20 Summit: Press Conference
As Asheville hosts the delegates of the G20 Summit Financial Track from August 28 to September 2nd, we want to raise awareness about our local recovery, its ongoing challenges and how these struggles are linked to struggles across the globe.
The Western Circle of the NC Poor People’s Campaign, Indivisible AVL and other local organizations have planned a series of events, beginning on Saturday, to raise awareness about the G20 Summit and provide a non-violent counter narrative.
On Friday, there’ll be a series banner drops from 4:30 to 5:30 pm, at overpasses along I-240 & I-26, from Charlotte Street to the AVL Airport.
The Press Conference will begin at 6 pm, at the “Nonument” (where the Vance monument used to be) to talk about the community’s recovery and our ongoing needs. Join us to help send our message.
