Duke Energy Public Hearing

Duke Energy will hold a single public hearing on Tuesday, March 16, at 7pm, on its proposed 15-year plan, which includes building up to 13 fracked gas plants and continuing to burn coal until 2049, citing prohibitive costs around renewables. The Sierra Club is providing expert testimony to challenge the cost assumptions, but citizen input from Duke ratepayers will play a critical role. Please consider speaking at the hearing. All speakers must register by 5pm Thursday, March 11, with the NC Utilities Commission.
