Achieving Racial Equity in North Carolina’s Legal System

The ACLU’s Western North Carolina Chapter invites you to a free, virtual panel discussion on “Achieving Equity in North Carolina’s Legal System” on Tuesday, November 16th, at 7 pm.
The panel will discuss the disproportionate targeting and incarceration of people of color and provide ideas for how we can bring more transparency and accountability into NC’s legal system. There will be an opportunity for audience Q&A at the end of the session.
ACLU’s Capital Punishment Project Senior Counsel Henderson Hill will be moderating the discussion. Featured panel speakers include:
- Anita Earls: Associate Justice, NC Supreme Court
- NC State Senator Mujtaba Mohammed
- Rob Thomas: our very own Strategic Coordinator at the RJC
- Dr. Felicia Arriaga: Professor of Sociology, Appalachian State University
