42nd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration
January 14 - January 16
After two years of virtual celebrations, the MLK Asheville 2023 Celebration will return to an in-person format. This will be the 42nd year of service with the theme Audacious Action During Uncertain Times.
The annual Prayer Breakfast will take place at the Crowne Plaza Saturday, January 14th, at 8 am. The co-speakers will be Fletcher Mayor Preston Blakely and award-winning author and staff member to the late Representative John Lewis, Andrew Aydin.
The annual Candlelight Service will be held Sunday evening, January 15th, at 5:30 pm, at Trinity Episcopal Church.
The Peace March & Rally will be held on Monday, January 16th at 11:30 am, at St. James AME Church. The Rally will be at Pack Square Park at 12:30 pm.
