New Redistricting Hearings

Legislators made a surprise announcement last week. They’re going to hold just three public hearings starting Monday before they draw new congressional and legislative districts for North Carolina. It’s deeply concerning that the legislature is only holding so few hearings – a fraction of the number of hearings in past redistricting cycles. By doing so, legislators are putting redistricting hearings out of reach for millions of North Carolinians.

If you’re able to attend any of the legislature’s public hearings on redistricting, you are strongly encouraged to do so. From there, you can bear witness to the process and speak out about the needs and concerns of your community when it comes to voting districts.
