Thanks for Coming to Defend Daca!
The recent assault on DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) really hit home in North Carolina, which is number nine on the list of states with the most DACA recipients. Here in Asheville, we filled our basket with letters and postcards to send off to our MoCs. People poured in to The Block Off Biltmore, Beer and Politics night to tell Richard Burr, Thom Tillis, Patrick McHenry, and Mark Meadows that we want their support for a bill currently in Congress, the DREAM Act (S.1615 / H.R.3440), that protects the current 800,000 Dreamers and allows for permanent residence and a path to citizenship. IndivisibleAVL was joined by Buncombe County Young Democrats for the event.
