Indivisible Asheville/WNC Endorses Jasmine Beach-Ferrara for Congress

Indivisible Asheville/WNC (“Indivisible AVL”) has endorsed Jasmine Beach-Ferrara in the race for the U.S. House of Representatives for North Carolina District 11.

“Jasmine’s positions on several key issues will benefit all Western North Carolinians,” said Indivisible AVL Board Member Kerry Stanley. “Her commitment to expanding early childhood education, responding to the opioid crisis, protecting family farms and expanding economic opportunity are critically important for this mostly rural, mountain region of the state.”

In its endorsement decision, the Board also noted Beach-Ferrara’s strong commitment to healthcare access and affordability. “Jasmine has pledged to ensure that affordable healthcare is available to everyone,” Stanley added, “from preventive care to treatment to prescriptions, and to codify freedom for full reproductive care into federal law.”

Beach-Ferrara is a Buncombe County Commissioner, an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ, and the founding Executive Director of the Campaign for Southern Equality (CSE). “After years of leadership at the county and regional level, Jasmine is prepared and ready to serve us all – with an emphasis on ‘all’ – nationally,” Stanley said. “We endorse her candidacy enthusiastically.”

Indivisible AVL is a grassroots organization founded in 2016 to protect democracy with informed community action in Western North Carolina, through voter education, civic engagement and advocacy.
