There is a national poll worker shortage. That’s why the Declaration for American Democracy is celebrating National Poll Worker Recruitment Day—a national day of action to recruit our members to sign up to be poll workers!
As a poll worker, you can help ensure a safe, fair, efficient election for all voters. Poll workers support early voting locations, ensure technology functions, and help minimize delays at polling places on election day. Poll worker shortages can cause long lines and polling location closures, leading to voter disenfranchisement, especially in communities of color and low income communities.
Power the Polls will provide you with more information about the application process and what to expect when you become a poll worker. Follow-up on your application will come from your local election administrator.
