Help us send handwritten thank-you notes to six NC House reps who are under tremendous pressure to override the Governor’s budget veto but so far are standing strong. Their vote matters for ALL of us in North Carolina, so let’s thank them for standing with the Governor in his fight for healthcare and education.
If you’re in the Asheville area, join us at a Card-Writing Drop-In Wednesday evening any time between 5:30 and 7:00. We’ll have pre-addressed cards, stamps, and sample texts.
If you can’t make it Wednesday night, download this Info Sheet with talking points, names and addresses, and write your own cards. Just be sure to get them in the mail by the end of this week — and let us know, so we’ll have an accurate count. Our goal is 300 cards by the end of this week – that’s only 50 people writing notes to each of the 6 reps – and we’re almost halfway there!
North Carolina deserves Medicaid Expansion and adequate funding for education, and the budget that the majority in the General Assembly sent to the Governor didn’t include either. For an excellent review of why Medicaid Expansion is needed in this budget – and why Phil Berger and the majority party are refusing to allow it – watch this short video from state Sen.
