Rally for 23 Million
Join us for a nonpartisan rally speaking out against Congress for attempting to steal healthcare away from 23 million Americans – our families, our neighbors, ourselves. The 23 million are workers, retirees, veterans, people with disabilities and chronic illnesses, children, women, anyone with the audacity to have an emergency, and possibly you.
We’ll hear from people directly affected by this legislation:
- Lindsay Furst, Teacher & Public School Advocate
- Jaclyn Kiger, Pisgah Legal Services
- Alia Todd, ASRW
- Tyrone Greenlee
- John Wingerter, Council on Aging
- Jasmine Beach-Ferrara, Campaign for Southern Equality
- and music from David LaMotte
Co-sponsors include: Campaign for Southern Equality, Pisgah Legal Services, Western North Carolina AIDS Project, ACLU of NC – Western NC Chapter, League of Women Voters of Asheville-Buncombe County and Western North Carolina Community Health Services.
Indivisible AVL will host a letter-writing and postcard-writing station at the rally, to collect and mail individual comments about this disastrous bill to Senators Tillis and Burr. Pre-addressed postcards, stamps, fact sheets, and handouts will be provided.
