Beer and Politics
Join us Tuesday evening, June 13, at Asheville Brewing downtown (77 Coxe Avenue), between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m., for the first of what we hope will be frequent Beer & Politics gatherings.
What’s that, you say? We envision Beer & Politics as a chance to unwind, get to know each other better, meet new members, share what other teams are up to, and enjoy a good brew…..while writing letters to our Members of Congress!
We’ll provide the stationery, pens, labels, cards, stamps, and background facts. You provide the friendly faces and good company.
We expect to focus on different topics each time, guided by the current situation and by Indivisible AVL Teams’ action plans.
This first one is sponsored by our Congress Watch Team, who’s focusing on Senator Tillis’s role in urging Trump to withdraw from the Paris Agreement. On June 13, we’ll be writing to Tillis to let him know what we think about the letter he and 21 other Republican senators sent to the president. You can read and download a copy of the signed letter on Oklahoma Senator Jim Inhofe’s website.
Do you have suggestions for future topics? A favorite brewery you’d like us to try? Ideas for a catchy name for these events? Drop by on Tuesday or drop us a line and let us know.
Hope to see you there!
