Help Support Local Abortion Funds

The U.S. Supreme Court is set to overturn Roe v. Wade, the nearly half-century ruling that acknowledged abortion as a legal right in the United States. There are now 26 states lined up to criminalize abortion as soon as Roe is overturned, and 13 of those already have trigger laws on the books that will impose that change immediately. The demand on local abortion funds will increase significantly, with many people needing to travel hundreds of miles to deal with a personal medical decision.

The battle to regain our rights might be long and hard, and many women are likely to suffer and even die under repressive state laws. But there are concrete steps we can take that will make a difference and build support in the days ahead. One of the most crucial will be to donate to local abortion funds.

  • In North Carolina, the Carolina Abortion Fund provides support to people needing an abortion in North or South Carolina.
  • Black-led reproductive justice projects fighting against abortion bans and advancing reproductive justice have joined forces for fundraising. One donation can be split among Black Feminist Future, SPARK Reproductive Justice and 11 other groups.
  • Nationally, the National Network of Abortion Funds can direct your donation to a specific fund or apply it wherever there is the greatest need.
