Welcome NC Legislature Back To The People’s House

Calling all North Carolinians of conscience to continue the work started Saturday March 2nd, when thousands of people marched on our state capital to demand that the NC General Assembly address poverty as the 4th leading cause of death in the country.

Gather in Raleigh on Wednesday April 24th, at 11 am, to welcome our elected officials back to the People’s House for its “short” session.

Let’s hold them accountable for the devastating policies they passed during the 2023 legislative session, including:

  • slashing taxes for the wealthy and corporations,
  • promoting a culture of fear and hate,
  • failing to fully fund public education,
  • cutting protections for the most vulnerable North Carolinians, and
  • making it easier to get a gun and harder to vote.

Leadership in the NC General Assembly is already hinting at more destructive policies coming in this session, including attacks on our immigrant families, further privatizing public education and leaving the system of child care in tatters.
