Tell Burr & Tillis: Pass the Families First Coronavirus Response Act!
TELL CONGRESS TO ACT — As of Monday afternoon, the U.S. Senate still has not voted on the Families First Coronavirus Response Act that the House passed on Friday. This emergency bill includes:
- Free COVID-19 testing for everyone who needs it, regardless of health care coverage
- 10 days of immediately available paid sick leave for COVID-19-related illness, caregiving, or quarantine,
- 12 weeks of emergency paid leave for COVID-19-related illness, caregiving, or quarantine,
- Increased funding for SNAP, WIC and emergency food assistance programs
- Increased funding for state unemployment insurance programs
- Increased support for state Medicaid programs*
- and more
* (Medicaid): The NC Justice Center reports that NC would receive an estimated $900 million under this proposal.
