The House Calls on Americans to Fight Anti-Semitism & All Forms of Bigotry.
The resolution, HR 183, passed overwhelmingly with McHenry voting in favor. The resolution condemns the death threats received by Jewish and Muslim members of Congress in recent weeks, and calls on public officials to confront anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, racism, and all other forms of bigotry. We eagerly anticipate McHenry condemning Trump after his next racist tweet.
More about HR 183: This resolution expresses the sense of the House of Representatives that all Americans have a stake in fighting anti-Semitism and every form of bigotry and hatred against people based on religion, race, sexual orientation, or place of birth and origin. It’d reject the perpetuation of anti-Semitic stereotypes in the U.S. and around the world, including the pernicious myth of dual loyalty and foreign allegiance, especially in the context of support for the U.S-.Israel relationship. It’d condemn anti-Semitic statements as contrary to American values, and reject attempts to justify hatred or violent attacks. The resolution would also acknowledge the harm suffered by Muslims and others from anti-Muslim bigotry and violence. Further, the resolution would condemn the death threats received by Jewish and Muslim members of Congress in recent weeks, and call on public officials to confront anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, racism, and all other forms of bigotry.
As a simple resolution, this legislation is non-binding
