Truth & Shame: Burr Convicts, Tillis Acquits. Call & Write Today!
It’s now a matter of public record: On Saturday, February 13, 2021, one of our North Carolina senators stood up for truth in the second impeachment trial of Donald Trump, and one caved in to alternate reality. While Sen. Tillis admitted that Trump “shares responsibility for the disgrace that occurred on January 6,” he refused to acknowledge the indisputable facts of that responsibility, claiming that “politicians on both sides of the aisle have repeatedly used overcharged and provocative rhetoric.” Sen. Burr, however, stated it plainly: “The evidence is compelling that President Trump is guilty of inciting an insurrection against a coequal branch of government and that the charge rises to the level of high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” Apparently you can only speak the truth to your constituents if you’re not running for reelection.
Their votes will be remembered by history. But let us be sure to let them know their constituents remember as well.
Call and write today to thank Sen. Burr for putting country over party and standing up for truth – and to let Thom Tillis know what you think of his shameful vote and even more shameful justifications:
