Sign Up Today for “Love Thy Neighbor” Postcard Campaign for Medicaid Expansion

Show your love this Valentine’s season by advocating for affordable healthcare. The NC Justice Center’s Health Advocacy Project is launching a “Love Thy Neighbor!” Postcard and Advocacy Day Campaign in January and February, to push our state legislators to finally adopt Medicaid Expansion in North Carolina.

Why? Half a million of our neighbors in North Carolina need to be able to afford their cancer screenings, their prescription drugs, mental health treatment, and more. Medicaid Expansion closes the gap for working adults who don’t otherwise qualify for affordable care.

As we approach Valentine’s Day 2023, The NC Justice Center asks us to encourage our lawmakers to do the right thing with a spirit of love, hope, and togetherness. They are asking our help in mailing postcards to members of the NC General Assembly and showing widespread support for Medicaid expansion—the single best policy solution for saving lives and honoring our collective commitment to loving our neighbors across North Carolina!

Sign up here to help with the “Love Thy Neighbor!” Postcard Campaign.

When you sign up, the NC Justice Center will mail you a packet of pre-addressed postcards and stamps that you can mail directly to lawmakers, along with some talking points to get you started. You should receive your packet in late January.

Other Actions

In addition to the postcard campaign, we’ll be hosting a “Love Thy Neighbor” Valentine’s Day advocacy event at the NC General Assembly on February 14, 2023, which will include hand-delivering Valentine’s Day cards to all NC Senate and House members. If you can’t make it to Raleigh in person, we can help you schedule virtual visits with your legislators!

There will also be a “call your legislators” action hour option the week before Valentine’s Day on February 7 at 11 AM. If you’d like to participate in any of these options, please indicate so on the sign-up form and we’ll send you more information!
