Tell Tillis & Budd to Stop Trump’s Assault on Venezuela

The Senate voted on January 8 to bring the Venezuela War Powers Act resolution (S.J.Res.98) to a vote: “To direct the removal of United States Armed Forces from hostilities within or against Venezuela that have not been authorized by Congress.” 

The measure would require Trump to seek congressional authorization for military operations in Venezuela.

NOTE: Neither of our NC Senators, Thom Tillis or Ted Budd, joined the five other Republicans who voted for bringing this resolution to a vote.

ACTION:
Call Senators Tillis and Budd urging them to support the Venezuela War Powers Act resolution (S.J.98) when it comes up for a full vote. Let them know we will hold them accountable for what comes next if they do not act now to stop it. Urge them to do their duty under the Constitution and stop this unauthorized assault on the nation of Venezuela.

The House may soon vote on a similar proposal. Rep. Jim McGovern (D-Mass.) announced plans to introduce a Venezuela war powers measure soon, to force a debate in the House.
